Job summary

Envision Energy’s Global Blade Innovation Center in Boulder seeks a Senior Blade Structure Engineer to own the most technically complex challenges in blade composites, from failure investigation to next‑generation design technologies and product‑level solutions.

You will collaborate across design, production, and operations, apply AI‑augmented tools for failure analysis, and translate physical insights into robust designs with field‑proven performance.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience in wind energy or composites.
• Deep knowledge of composite design, damage mechanics, and manufacturing methods.
• Expertise in FEA/FEM modeling and analysis (ANSYS, ABAQUS) across composites to tooling interfaces.
• Proven ability to lead root cause analysis across organizational boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of composite design technologies from concept through validation and production integration.
• Develop and apply multi‑fidelity engineering tools to evaluate, optimize, and improve blade designs at component and product levels.
• Characterize and apply composite material behavior to drive design improvements informed by physical evidence.
• Identify product‑level structural challenges and lead engineering solutions spanning laminate design, joints, sandwich construction, and manufacturing methods.
• Collaborate with aerodynamics, loads, controls, and manufacturing disciplines to ensure integrated, producible, field‑proven designs.
