Job summary

Pfizer is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist in the United States to advance biotherapeutic testing within an R&D environment. You will conduct qualitative/quantitative analyses, validate methods, and maintain GLP/GMP-compliant records to support vaccine and therapeutic development.

The role requires strong documentation, analytical skills, and collaboration across teams to meet project milestones while ensuring safe laboratory practices and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• BA/BS with 3–5 years of biotherapeutics testing in R&D or GMP environments
• Master’s Degree with 0–4 years of biotherapeutics testing in R&D or GMP environments
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
• Experience with method validation and transfer
• Ability to extract info from literature
• Proficiency in recording observations and data in cgMP investigations
• Understanding of biochemistry fundamentals and compound characterization
• Experience with UV-VIS spectros spectroscopy, HPLC/UPLC or bioassays
• Experience in GMP laboratory operations and logistics
• Effective collaboration in multidisciplinary teams
• Growth mindset and diverse teamwork
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses of biotherapeutic products and vaccines for quality during manufacture and shelf life
• Perform analytical method lifecycle activities (verification, qualification, validation, transfer)
• Maintain records in compliance with GLP/GMP and SOPs
• Maintain and renew lab instruments and improve practices
• Present data in team meetings and solve investigations
• Work under moderate supervision and support project goals
• Collaborate across the analytical organization
• Prioritize work to meet deadlines and participate as a team member
• Improve safe and effective lab practices
• Perform and troubleshoot analytical assays across early/late-stage products in a cGMP environment
