Job summary

Pivotal Life Sciences is seeking a Senior Investment Associate to join our San Francisco team. The role combines finance, biotech investment research, and AI to enhance decision-making within our biotechnology portfolio.

The ideal candidate has a PhD in biology and 2–5 years of venture capital or related investment experience, with strong data science and Python skills. A collaborative, fast-paced environment is offered with opportunities for equity and growth.

Qualifications

PhD in Biology or related life sciences required.
2–5 years of venture capital, investment banking, or buy/sell side public investment research experience, biotech focus preferred.
Familiarity with data analysis, machine learning, and AI in finance/biotech.
Basic programming skills in Python are a plus.
Strong communication, analytical, and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and due diligence on biotech investments with AI insights.
Build and maintain financial models to evaluate investments, incorporating AI where applicable.
Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to integrate analytics into decision-making.
Contribute to development of predictive algorithms and AI models for investment strategies.
Prepare investment recommendations and present findings to leadership.
Engage with industry experts and portfolio companies to gather insights.
Stay informed on biotech and AI industry trends and regulatory changes.
