Job summary

CSL Plasma seeks an Associate Director, Research Biostatistics to lead strategic statistical activities across discovery and translational programs. The role combines hands-on study design, advanced analyses, and methodological innovation to inform project decisions.

You will mentor statisticians and collaborate with cross-functional teams, delivering evidence-generation strategies and contributing to publications and scientific communications.

Qualifications

• PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience applying statistics in pre-clinical pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or biomedical research environment.
• Demonstrated track record in developing and applying advanced statistical methodologies for biological, translational, biomarker, omics, imaging, or related scientific data.
• Proven experience with modern statistical programming, reproducible analysis workflows, and quantitative computing platforms, particularly R and related technologies.
• Publications, conference presentations, methodological innovations, or development of analytical tools and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic statistical leadership and methodological oversight across discovery, translational, and early research programs.
• Lead and perform complex statistical analyses across diverse datasets using Bayesian methods, causal inference, longitudinal modelling, and machine learning.
• Develop and apply innovative statistical methods and reproducible workflows; provide statistical programming solutions (R, etc.).
• Support biomarker identification, evaluation, and validation activities for translational evidence-generation.
• Translate complex scientific data into actionable insights for target evaluation and portfolio decisions.
• Collaborate with multiple quantitative functions to apply state-of-the-art methodologies.
• Contribute to scientific publications, ethics submissions, and external collaborations.
