Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Senior Manager, Biospecimen Lead to partner with Clinical Teams across Phase 1-4 trials, developing and implementing biospecimen management strategies. You will oversee specimen lifecycles, vendor relations, and data delivery timelines to enable timely decision-making and protect competitive advantage.

The role requires experience in biospecimen operations, regulatory knowledge (GCP/GLP/CLIA), and strong cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• Clinical biospecimen procedures and lifecycle knowledge.
• Experience in clinical trials healthcare or pharmaceutical environments.
• Vendor experience (labs, CROs, biospecimens).
• Ability to make decisions to resolve complex problems.
• Stakeholder management across functions.
• Independently manage projects and initiatives.
• Serve as SME/coach for junior staff.
• Plan and execute protocol-related activities.
• Communicate data and findings to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrate Change Agility and inclusion.
• 5–6 years in biotech/pharma or related fields.
• Knowledge of GCP/GLP/CLIA, data/risk management, regulatory issues.
• Biospecimen lifecycle/operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lifecycle of biospecimens for clinical studies.
• Create Specimen Management Plan with the Clinical Team.
• Manage shipping, sample movement, queries and inventories.
• Review protocol vs vendor SOW and provide feedback.
• Vendor management and inventory access for specimen tracking.
• Create biospecimen tracker using Excel/Tableau/Polaris.
• Identify biospecimen risks and manage C2Q processes.
• Communicate status and issues to stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functional team meetings.
