Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in a science field; required.
• Two years of full-time microbiology experience; required.
• Experience with BSL-3 procedures and, if possible, select agents knowledge.
• CDC authorization to work with select agents required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Safety Officer ensuring biosafety training and practices to avoid potential hazards.
• Analyze biosafety programs and develop plans to improve program consistency in all areas.
• Lead as a Laboratory Safety Committee member to provide education and training on biosafety.
• Perform respiratory fit testing to ensure OSHA requirements are met.
• Develop and review risk assessments and mitigation plans; coordinate staff training.
