Job summary

Arista Networks in Nashua, NH, is seeking a BIOS Software Engineer to design, develop and validate low-level CPU firmware, BIOS and boot loader software for Arista products. You will work with hardware and software teams to bring up new CPUs, integrate with EOS, and contribute to kernel and open source BIOS communities while mentoring juniors.

You will own substantial firmware components, implement features, debug issues and optimize reliability and performance across Arista platforms.

Qualifications

Proficient in C; knowledge of C++ and Python desirable.
Experience in CPU firmware, BIOS, and boot loader development.
Experience bringing up new CPU boards and diagnosing low‑level firmware issues.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, integrate and maintain low‑level CPU software in Arista products.
Develop automated tests using C, C++ and Python to validate features.
Collaborate with hardware engineers and vendors to qualify CPUs and components for Arista products.
Stay current with Linux Kernel developments and contribute features to mainline where appropriate.
Review specifications and mentor junior engineers in the team.
