Job summary

Arista Networks in Nashua, NH, seeks a BIOS software engineer to develop and maintain low-level CPU firmware, BIOS and boot loader software for Arista products. You will evaluate CPUs, bring up new boards and ensure EOS boots securely and reliably.

The role spans C, C++, and Python development, interaction with hardware teams, and contributions to Linux kernel features and open source BIOS communities. You will mentor juniors and own projects from definition to deployment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in CS/EE/CE with relevant years of experience.
• Expert C programming; knowledge of C++ and Python desirable.
• Experience in CPU firmware, BIOS and boot loader development.
• Experience bringing up new CPU boards and debugging low-level firmware.
• Familiarity with Linux kernel architecture and networking concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and maintain low-level CPU software for Arista products.
• Develop automated tests using C, C++ and Python.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to qualify CPUs and components.
• Track Linux kernel developments and contribute features to mainline BIOS projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive projects from concept to deployment.
