Job summary

The University of Michigan's Michigan Medicine is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to repair, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment across multiple sites with a focus on operating room coverage. This float role supports the Cardiovascular Center, Children's and Women's Hospital, and off-campus clinics.

With minimal supervision, you will use AIMS work order system, prepare parts for repairs, and potentially cross-train colleagues.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent Military training is required.
• Knowledge and experience with advanced analog and digital electronics.
• More than five years of experience repairing and maintaining medical equipment, preferably in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Work documented in the AIMS work order database system.
• Identify and prepare the necessary parts and materials for repairs and preventive maintenance on assigned devices.
• Cross-training of other Biomedical Engineering Technicians to provide expanded support.
