Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking HTM Technicians to support the formation and launch of a new laboratory infrastructure, with plans to transition to a permanent role within Mayo Clinic. The role requires strong technical skills in biomedical equipment, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally for training.

Candidates should have a biomedical electronics background and be prepared for a fast-paced, customer-focused environment with potential on-call and overtime requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Electronics/Healthcare Technology Management, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Engineering.
  • Associate degree in Biomedical Electronics/Healthcare Technology Management, Electronics, Mechatronics, Engineering, or related technical discipline with relevant experience.
  • U.S. Military training in biomedical electronics, mechatronics, or engineering with related hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain medical, clinical equipment and systems following the Mayo Clinic Medical Equipment Management Plan.
  • Demonstrate technical and mechanical skills for planning, installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical and laboratory equipment.
  • Be highly customer-focused with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; prioritize service calls and adhere to Mayo policy.
  • Handle service calls via HTM Leadership, HTM Support Specialists, or CMMS dashboard; respond rapidly to emergent calls; on-call and travel may be required.
  • Commit to continuous knowledge improvement to achieve mastery of increasingly complex equipment.
  • Work with high-complexity equipment such as anesthesia machines, perfusion equipment, ventilators, mass spectrometry, chemistry/hematology analyzers, or Total Automation systems.
  • Travel domestically and internationally for vendor-specific training; initial training travel to Europe up to 3 weeks within first year.
