Responsibilities

As our Biomedical Technician (BMET) at CHI St. Joseph in London, KY, part of the CommonSpirit Health network, you’ll support patient care by ensuring medical equipment functions properly and accurately. This role involves preventative maintenance (PM) and equipment repairs to enable healthcare teams to confidently use diagnostic equipment.

This position manages the daily operations of a specific service shop and provides repair, incoming inspection, calibration, and maintenance services for medical treatment and diagnostic equipment.

  • Provides coverage and support for CE Lead during their absence if needed.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, safety tests, and calibration for equipment.
  • Provides equipment repair within the responsible area.
  • Prioritizes workload effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Completes all necessary record keeping for work orders received and completed.
  • Addresses customer service issues and complaints with minimal supervision.
  • Assists in ordering parts and supplies necessary for servicing equipment.
  • Performs cross-training to other technicians on acquired skills.
  • Communicates effectively and partners with teammates and colleagues.
Qualifications
Education
  • Associate's degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent military education, technical program graduate, or equivalent training/experience.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience servicing technical equipment.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • CBET preferred.

Pay Range

$30.47 - $44.19 per hour
