Job summary

The University of Virginia is seeking a seasoned Technical and Field Engineer Operations and Service professional to lead maintenance, PM, and repair of medical equipment across radiology, lab, and respiratory therapy areas.

Responsibilities include inventory management in UVA's equipment system, installation and initial inspections, and ensuring safety compliance. Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience with an associate degree or CBET and Virginia driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or CBET or equivalent certifications.
• 7-10 years of relevant experience.
• Valid Virginia Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a full-service expert in focus clinical and administrative areas (radiology/imaging, lab, or respiratory therapy).
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a range of medical equipment.
• Maintain UVA medical equipment inventory system accuracy.
• Prepare paperwork for new equipment with complete descriptions, warranty dates, and classifications.
• Verify serial numbers and model numbers for all maintained equipment.
• Coordinate installation and initial inspections on medical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and policies.
• Mentor and train technical staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
