Job summary

Exponent Inc. is seeking a Senior Managing Scientist for the Biomechanics Practice in Philadelphia, PA or Natick, MA. You will work as part of a team to solve challenging, multidisciplinary technical problems related to human injury analyses and health technologies.

You will lead client relationships, manage projects, design experiments, and mentor junior staff while advancing research publications and client services. A competitive compensation package is provided.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biomechanics, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Kinesiology, Movement Science, Physical Therapy, or a related field.
• Existing client base with proven business development and client management track record.
• 7+ years of post-graduate experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Experience with cutting-edge technologies related to human performance, health, and wellness.
• Experience in computational programming (Python, MATLAB) with emphasis on algorithm design and data analytics.
• Demonstrated experience in study design and statistical analyses.
• Proven success in independently developing and managing client relationships.
• Strong reputation for integrity, responsiveness, and technical expertise.
• Ability to attract projects to support full-time staff and to recruit junior staff.
• Prior experience with litigation consulting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop client relationships and identify business opportunities.
• Oversee projects from initiation to completion with cost-control.
• Create and use analytical tools for biomechanical analyses and data interpretation.
• Write proposals to support opportunities in health and wellness sectors.
• Design and execute human experiments to quantify health and performance traits.
• Conduct safety assessments related to injury potential of products.
• Utilize advanced analytics to inform real-world insights and strategies.
• Publish findings and present at conferences; mentor junior staff.
• Recruit and develop junior team members and expand the practice.
