Job summary

UCB in the United States is hiring a Senior Biomanufacturing Process Expert to guide the design and startup of a new high-volume biologics manufacturing facility in the Atlanta, GA area. You will shape processes, facility layout, and operational strategies aligned with UCB's pipeline and long-term goals.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, MFG Science, Development, Engineering, Quality, and leadership to deliver a facility that supports future biologics portfolio and excellence.

Qualifications

• Doctorate with 6+ years experience in biologics development or related field.
• Master's degree with 10+ years experience in biologics development or related field.
• Bachelor's degree with 15+ years experience in biologics development or related field.
• Experience in biologics development, manufacturing, engineering, or process sciences.
• Expertise in mammalian antibody drug substance manufacturing processes.
• Experience leading technical decisions within cross-functional organizations.
• Strong technical writing and document review experience.
• Willingness to travel and relocate to Georgia (USA).
• Upstream processing including cell culture and bioreactors (preferred).
• Downstream purification and filtration technologies (preferred).
• Experience supporting large-scale biologics facility design projects (preferred).
• Knowledge of quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements (preferred).
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders across global organizations (preferred).
• Experience supporting greenfield manufacturing facility startups (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Serve as biomanufacturing process expert for facility design decisions.
• Align manufacturing capabilities with future biologics pipeline requirements.
• Provide technical guidance on process equipment and facility layouts.
• Lead cross-functional reviews and technical decision-making activities.
• Author and review technical documentation and operational standards.
• Support startup readiness and successful facility implementation.
