Jacobs is seeking a Senior Biologist to lead and support biological resource and environmental compliance efforts across Southern California. The role combines field leadership with office-based technical work, mentoring staff, coordinating with agencies, and guiding permitting and compliance pathways.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology or closely related field.
  • 8+ years of professional biology or environmental consulting experience.
  • Permits or demonstrated experience with listed species and survey techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in biological field surveys, impact assessments, and resource evaluations across Southern California.
  • Serve as technical lead for projects involving federally and state-listed species.
  • Prepare and review biological survey reports, memoranda, mitigation and monitoring plans, and compliance documents.
  • Support CEQA/NEPA, ESA, and local regulatory permitting processes; coordinate with agencies.
  • Develop avoidance, minimization, and mitigation strategies for project planning and permitting success.
  • Mentor and supervise early-career biologists and field staff; manage tasks and budgets.
