Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. in Bend, Oregon seeks a Senior R&D Scientist, Novel Biologics Delivery to lead conceptualization, development and validation of innovative delivery platforms for proteins, peptides and nucleic acids.

This fully site-based role requires collaboration across early discovery and clinical translation to advance breakthrough biologic therapies. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate analytical insights into robust drug delivery strategies, applying stability,

Qualifications

Strong understanding of biologic developability including protein stability and interfacial behavior.
Hands-on experience with formulation screening, stress, and stability studies for biologic products.
Expertise applying analytical characterization methods to connect molecular attributes with formulation performance.
Working knowledge of injectable drug product development and sterile processing fundamentals.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional R&D teams.

Responsibilities

Translate analytical insights into innovative formulation and drug delivery platforms for proteins, peptides, and nucleic acids.
Design, execute, and interpret advanced characterization and stability studies to guide development decisions.
Incorporate injectability and tissue interactions into formulation design for injectable biologics.
Develop in vitro and ex vivo performance models to evaluate novel formulations and delivery concepts.
Partner with cross-functional R&D teams to integrate perspectives into differentiated biologic drug product strategies.
