Job summary

Mount Sinai's BiNGS Shared Resource at Tisch Cancer Center seeks an experienced Bioinformatician II to lead transcriptomics, epigenomics, and multiomics analyses in cancer biology. You will design projects, work with investigators, and mentor junior bioinformaticians to advance discovery.

You will implement robust computational strategies, run analyses in the Mount Sinai HPC and AWS cloud, and deliver publication-ready figures and reports for manuscripts and grants.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, or related field.
• 2+ years post-graduate experience with large datasets.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, Linux, and Bash.
• Experience with WES, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and other NGS data analyses.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific and analytical leadership for complex genomics and transcriptomics projects (WES, WGS, scRNA-seq) and contribute to publications.
• Manage multiple collaborative projects: study design, data analysis, interpretation, and presentation to investigators.
• Integrate internally generated data with public resources (COSMIC, TCGA, GEO) to generate new hypotheses.
• Develop publication-quality figures and analytical reports for manuscripts and grant applications.
• Evaluate and benchmark emerging computational methods for multiomic data integration and visualization.
• Oversee data management, storage, archiving, and workflow execution on HPC.
• Maintain and support cloud resources, preferably AWS, for interactive reports and apps.
