Job summary

Mount Sinai BiNGS Shared Resource seeks an experienced Bioinformatician II to lead transcriptomics, epigenomics, and multiomics data analyses focused on cancer biology. You will design, execute, interpret, and communicate complex genomic analyses, mentor junior bioinformaticians, and drive projects from inception through publication.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in bioinformatics or related field; strong computational skills.
• PhD preferred; those with MS + post-graduate experience considered.
• Experience with large genomic datasets and advanced statistical analyses.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership for transcriptomics and epigenetics BiNGS projects; design strategies, lead analyses, and contribute to publications.
• Manage multiple collaborative projects; study design, data analysis, interpretation, and narrative development.
• Integrate internal datasets with public resources (ENCODE, TCGA, GEO) to identify patterns and hypotheses.
• Develop publication-quality figures, analyses, and reports for manuscripts and grants.
• Evaluate and benchmark emerging multi-omic methods for integration and visualization.
• Oversee data management, storage, HPC workflow execution, and cloud resources.
• Maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS) and deployment of interactive reports.
