Job summary

Hydrogen Group is seeking a Senior BIM Engineer to lead electrical modeling and coordination on large-scale projects in New Florence, MO or Lincoln, NE. The role combines BIM/VDC expertise with field execution and construction knowledge, mentoring junior staff and ensuring modeling quality.

You will drive clash-free design reviews, develop one-line diagrams and distribution layouts, and coordinate with field leadership to optimize modular construction and value engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Technology, or related discipline — or equivalent field-based electrical construction experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting electrical construction projects in BIM, VDC, or engineering roles.
• Demonstrated experience leading electrical coordination and constructability-driven modeling workflows.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
• Strong understanding of NEC requirements and field installation practices.
• Proven ability to mentor junior technical staff and manage workload priorities.
• PE License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical modeling and coordination efforts for large-scale plan/specification, design-assist, and design-build projects.
• Develop and coordinate advanced electrical systems including one-line diagrams, distribution layouts, equipment placement, lighting systems, and controls.
• Drive clash-free model integration across multiple trades using Navisworks and coordination platforms.
• Lead constructability reviews by proactively identifying installation risks, sequencing conflicts, access constraints, and productivity challenges.
• Collaborate with field leadership and prefabrication teams to integrate modularization and labor-efficiency strategies into model development.
• Support value engineering initiatives by developing cost-effective technical solutions aligned with project performance requirements.
• Mentor BIM Engineers and Designers by providing technical guidance, training, and quality oversight.
• Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and operations teams to align BIM deliverables with schedules, procurement strategies, and execution plans.
• Participate in client-facing coordination meetings and design review sessions.
• Enforce BIM standards, workflows, and quality control processes.
