General Job Description: This position is responsible for managing the MEP Coordination and BIM processes by implementing, evaluating, and executing ACCO’s BIM workflows with a high level of expertise in analyzing various trade’s layouts and development of coordination resolutions.
Responsibilities
- Act as MEP Coordinator from design through the construction coordination phase
- Perform preliminary coordination of design drawings/models to streamline downstream processes
- Optimize coordination efforts to provide cost effective solutions
- Creating, reviewing, and managing BIM Execution Plans
- Lead BIM/VDC coordination meetings to meet project requirements for level of completion and project schedule
- Providing recommended fixes for issues found during clash detection
- Creating and managing BIM and coordination related constraint logs
- RFI assistance and evaluation regarding coordination impacts
- Use Navisworks to perform and manage clash detection
- Setup and model 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM software
- Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines
- Manage files on share sites, network servers, and software platforms
- Process and manage backgrounds provided by trade partners
- Use Bluebeam or other drawing markup tools to coordinate changes with designers
- Check completed work for quality, clarity, and use of ACCO BIM standards
- Prepare project-deliverable packages for submission
- Communicate design and constructability issues/challenges with project team
- Effectively and professionally communicate and foster collaboration with colleagues and project team members
- Apply training and project experience, and demonstrate constant improvement of technical abilities
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
Requirements
- Associate Degree or Technical Certificate in Engineering, Technical Drafting or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience as a BIM Coordinator
- Expert understanding of HVAC, plumbing and/or process design fundamentals and constructability, system and equipment types, building codes and industry standards
- Advanced knowledge of constructability requirements of building systems (MEPF, Structural, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of construction material, fabrication, and installation
- Ability to read and understand design documents, RFIs, and project schedules including design and construction activities

Physical Requirements

Hours
This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday. In general, work hours begin and end between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm and are determined by the department head.
Competitive Wages
$48 - $67 per hour.
