Job summary

ACCO Engineered Systems in Sacramento is seeking a BIM Technician to deliver modeling and documentation for HVAC, process, and plumbing projects. You will set up and model 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM software, while coordinating with engineers and trade partners to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities include maintaining ACCO BIM standards, preparing deliverable packages, and communicating constructability and design issues with the project team.

Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge of BIM software for creating 2D/3D drawings and documentation.
  • Strong time management to meet project deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam is preferred.

  • Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines.
  • Manage files on share sites, network servers, and software platforms.
  • Process and manage backgrounds provided by trade partners.

  • Check completed work for quality and adherence to ACCO BIM standards.
  • Prepare project-deliverable packages for transmittal/submission.
  • Communicate constructability issues with the project team.
  • Foster collaboration among colleagues and project teams.
  • Pursue ongoing improvements in technical abilities.

General Job Description

This position is responsible for the delivery of BIM services for multiple building systems, such as HVAC, process and plumbing. Working with various project teams (including Engineers, Designers, BIM Coordinators, and Trade Detailers) with the use of various BIM software to assist in the development of 2D/3D drawings and other documentation in accordance with company and client requirements while meeting project deadlines.

  • Prepare project-deliverable packages for transmittal/submission
  • Communicate design and constructability issues/challenges with project team
  • Effectively and professionally communicate and foster collaboration with colleagues and project team members
  • Apply training and project experience, and demonstrate constant improvement of technical abilities
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

Position Requirements
  • Associate Degree or Technical Certificate in Engineering, Technical Drafting, or equivalent work experience is preferred
  • Proficient basic computer software skills (Windows Explorer, Word, Excel, Gmail)
  • Working knowledge and/or experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam is preferred
  • Construction and building industry background is preferred

Hours

This is a non-exempt position from Monday through Friday. In general, work hours begin and end between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm and are determined by the department head.
