Job summary

Parsons in Abu Dhabi, UAE seeks a Senior BIM/CAD Modeler (Utilities) to develop and manage detailed 2D utility CAD models and drawings for major infrastructure projects. You will lead CAD technicians, coordinate with engineering teams, and ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi standards and Parsons CAD guidelines.

The role requires a Civil Engineering diploma, 7 years of utilities/roads drafting experience, and strong English communication. On-site work with multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 7 years of experience in infrastructure/utilities, roads and networks.
• Strong practical experience in 2D drafting for utilities and roads.
• Experience supervising CAD teams and training CAD staff.
• Experience with TPD planning approval drawings (service corridors, routes, roads).
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate with stakeholders.
• High attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Developing and reviewing planning approval drawings including service corridors, utility routes and road layouts.

• Leading and guiding modelers/CAD technicians: assigning tasks, providing technical direction, reviewing work for quality and compliance.
• Providing training and mentoring on CAD tools and drafting standards.
• Coordinating and managing technical documents between project operations, engineering disciplines, site teams and support groups.

Senior BIM/CAD Modeler (Utilities)

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior CAD Drafting Modeler (Utilities) to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing high-quality utility CAD models and drawings to support multidisciplinary design and delivery of major infrastructure projects

What You'll Be Doing:

• Producing and developing detailed Autodesk 2D models for utilities and road networks.

• Generating accurate 2D drawings (plans, elevations, sections, details, shop drawings)

• Developing and reviewing TPD planning approval drawings, including service corridors, utility routes, and road layouts.

• Creating and refining service corridor designs in coordination with engineering teams.

• Leading and guiding modelers/CAD technicians: assigning tasks, providing technical direction, and reviewing/checking their work for quality and compliance.

• Providing training and mentoring on CAD tools, and drafting standards as required.

• Supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of best practices, standards, and workflows for the drafting team.

• Coordinating and managing the flow of technical documents (models, drawings, specifications, calculations, data books) between project operations, engineering disciplines, site teams, and other support groups.

• Collecting, verifying, and consolidating technical information, ensuring consistency with site configuration and project requirements.

• Establish and maintain organized filing systems and computerized indexes for active engineering and CAD documents; generating reports as needed

• Ensuring all drawings and models comply with project specifications, codes, Abu Dhabi authority standards, and Parsons’ CAD standards.

• Assisting in identifying and resolving design and documentation issues; escalating to the manager where necessary.

• Managing interfaces and changes within the roads and networks project related to utilities and corridor modifications.

• Attending project and coordination meetings to report on documentation/model status and stay current on project progress and changes.

• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with site teams, engineers, and other stakeholders.

• Complying with all project policies, procedures, and CAD requirements.

• Performing other related duties assigned

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Diploma in Civil Engineering from a reputable and accredited institution.

• 7 years of experience in a similar role in infrastructure/utilities, roads, and networks.

• Strong practical experience in 2D drafting for utilities and road networks.

• Working experience of supervising the CAD team and provide training team the CAD team

• Demonstrated experience with TPD planning approval drawings (service corridors, routes, and roads).

• Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate with various stakeholders.

• High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

• Experience with Abu Dhabi standards and authority requirements for infrastructure and utilities works.

• Good understanding of CADworkflows.

• Proven experience leading and coordinating a team of modelers/CAD technicians.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.

• Previous experience on large-scale roads and utilities networks projects in the UAE or GCC.
