Job summary

Veolia Environnement SA in North America is seeking a senior proposal professional to guide bid teams and drive end-to-end proposal development for UPW and water systems in semiconductor contexts.

You will lead cross-functional coordination across engineering, sourcing, and contract management, manage schedules, ensure compliance with RFP/RFQ requirements, and partner with sales to win strategic opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 8+ years of proposal management, applications engineering, or project management experience within industrial water treatment, with direct familiarity in Ultrapure Water (UPW), high-purity water systems, or water systems serving semiconductor / microelectronics clients.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-volume proposals.
• Familiarity with design-build, progressive design-build delivery methods.
• Experience in identification and mitigation of business risks.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Lead a Bid Team including Application Engineering, Process Design, Sourcing, Contract Management to align with strategic intent.
• Lead end-to-end proposal development from RFP planning through final submission.
• Facilitate strategy discussions, kick-off meetings, and rhythm calls to guide teams toward a competitive proposal.
• Develop and maintain detailed schedules and responsibility assignments for timely fulfillment of requirements.
• Conduct compliance reviews of proposal materials to meet RFP/RFQ requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and elevating proposal quality.
• Structure system solutions with sales and bid teams to develop technical and commercial strategy and pricing.
• Identify and develop risk mitigation and opportunity strategies (performance, contractual, execution).
• Prepare information and present during Leadership reviews; support Sales in client interactions.
• Develop relationships with cross-functional stakeholders across Veolia (Projects, Services, CSM).
• Analyze and adjust strategy based on new data/feedback.

Job Description

The position can be remote. This individual can work anywhere in North America.

Note: This is a mechanical/chemical process engineering role within industrial water treatment. Candidates must have direct experience in high-purity water, UPW systems, or semiconductor water infrastructure.

You will be responsible for guiding and driving a bid team to create a winning and executable solution, in partnership with our sales team. Your engagement spans the sales cycle, from lead qualification to contract signature and project handover. Specific responsibilities will include:

• Leading a Bid Team consisting of individuals performing functions such as Application Engineering, Process Design, Sourcing, Contract Management, and others to ensure all elements of the offer are aligned with our strategic intent
• Lead end-to-end proposal development from RFP planning through final submission.
• Facilitate strategy discussions, kick-off meetings, and regular rhythm calls to guide teams toward a unified, competitive proposal approach.
• Develop and maintain detailed schedules and responsibility assignments to ensure complete and timely fulfillment of all requirements
• Conduct thorough compliance reviews of all proposal materials, confirming that required content meet every stated RFP/RFQ requirements
• Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by taking on assigned initiatives and consistently tracking proposal performance capturing lessons learned and implementing meaningful enhancements that elevate proposal quality over time
• Structuring system solutions, including collaborating with the sales team and extended bid teams to develop technical and commercial strategy, scope, execution model, construction partner identification/qualification (as required by deal structure) and pricing
• Identification, evaluation, prioritization, and development of risk mitigation and opportunity identification strategies (performance, contractual, execution, etc.)
• Preparing information and presenting during Leadership reviews
• Assisting the Sales team with client interaction and negotiation
• Developing and nurturing relationships with key, cross-functional, internal stakeholders across the Veolia business including Projects, Services and Chemical Solutions &Monitoring (CSM)
• Analysing and adjusting strategy based on new data/feedback

Qualifications

With a relevant and demonstrable track record in customer facing roles, influencing and negotiation solutions and structures along with excellent organizational skills, you will also need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred
• 8+ years of proposal management, applications engineering, or project management experience within industrial water treatment, with direct familiarity in Ultrapure Water (UPW), high-purity water systems, or water systems serving semiconductor / microelectronics clients
• Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi volume proposals
• Familiarity with design-build, progressive design-build delivery methods
• Experience in identification and mitigation of business risks
• Fluency in English (both written and verbal)
