Qualifications

• 5+ years designing data experiences in production with real users.
• Advanced Power BI proficiency across visualization design and layout.
• Experience gathering input from end users through discovery and usability methods.
• Working knowledge of SQL and underlying data structures.
• High ownership on a small team without dedicated research or QA support.

Responsibilities

• Partner with BI Product Manager in discovery to define problems and observe data use in real environments.
• Own information hierarchy, navigation, visualization selection, and layout across BI reports.
• Maintain knowledge of primary user groups (operational and leadership) and tailor designs accordingly.
• Prototype early and iterate based on user feedback and behavior, not just preferences.
• Own Power BI design system and templates; document decisions for evolution.
• Track adoption signals and surface friction to drive iterations after delivery.
• Participate in sprint planning and backlogging with Azure DevOps.
