Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company (BHSI) in Boston, MA is seeking an experienced Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Global BI team supporting SME business through advanced analytics and data products. You will translate business requirements into trusted data models, dashboards, and reusable analytical assets to drive performance.

The role requires strong SQL, Power BI expertise, and experience in data warehousing or semantic modeling, with ability to collaborate

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, analytics, reporting, data management, or related discipline.
Strong understanding of insurance reporting and analytics concepts.
Advanced SQL skills to investigate, analyze, validate and reconcile complex datasets.
Experience with Power BI or comparable enterprise BI platforms.
Experience with dimensional models, semantic models, data warehouses, or modern analytical data platforms.
Ability to translate complex business questions into analytical solutions and insights.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective communication across teams.

Responsibilities

Develop a deep understanding of SME business processes, products, and information needs to design BI solutions.
Partner with stakeholders to translate questions into scalable deliverables.
Design, develop, test, deploy and support Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
