Job summary

North American Risk Services (NARS) is hiring Senior Bodily Injury Claims Adjusters with heavy litigation and severe injury experience. An active New York Adjuster’s License is required, with willingness to obtain additional jurisdiction licenses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; 2-year degree or higher preferred.
• 5+ years of prior claim adjusting experience, preferably in the line of business handled.
• 5+ years of heavy litigation experience.
• Must have an active New York Adjuster’s License.
• Must be willing to obtain a Florida Adjuster’s License or other jurisdictional licensing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current claim metrics.
• Handle a case load commensurate with claims complexity.
• Establish facts of loss, perform coverage analysis, investigate, determine compensability/liability/negligence.
• Coordinate medical care as appropriate; manage litigation; assess damages; negotiate settlements.
• Identify potential fraud; coordinate use of vendors; perform reserve analysis and complete reports.
• Attend conferences and client meetings; mentor other adjusters; assist management as requested.
• Ensure all handling complies with state statutes, clients’ guidelines and best practices.
• Possible travel as needed.

Job Description:

• Claim metrics must be kept current.
• Handle a case load commensurate with the complexity level of claims assigned
• Requires establishing facts of loss, coverage analysis, investigation, compensability/liability/negligence determination, coordination of medical care (as appropriate), litigation management, damage assessment, settlement negotiations, identifying potential fraud and appropriate use of authorized vendors.
• Also includes timely and appropriate reserve analysis and report completion.
• Ability to attend conferences, client meetings, mentor other adjusters and assist management as requested.
• All file handling must be within state statutes, clients’ guidelines, and our best practices.
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned, which may include travel.

Education / Licensing / Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, 2-year degree or higher preferred.
• 5+ years of prior claim adjusting experience, preferably in the line of business being handled.
• 5+ years of heavy litigation experience.
• Must have an active New York Adjuster’s License.
• Must be willing to and have the ability to obtain a Florida Adjuster’s License or other required jurisdictional licensing.
