Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a Sr. Benefits Planning Analyst to lead financial planning, modeling, and analysis of the enterprise Health & Welfare programs.

You will manage the benefits budget and collaborate with brokers, actuaries, and internal teams to ensure accurate financial operations and strategic cost planning. Key duties include budgeting, variance analysis, vendor oversight (e.g., Anthem), invoice auditing, and executive reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in benefits administration and financial analysis.
• Experience owning enterprise-level financial processes and managing high-dollar, high-volume operations.
• Proven ability to direct vendor performance and influence senior leadership.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Familiarity with HRIS and benefits administration systems such as Workday, SAP, Oracle.
• Travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Own enterprise-wide financial strategy and performance for Health & Welfare benefit programs.
• Lead financial modeling including claims trend analysis, PEPM modeling, rate setting, and scenario forecasting.
• Accountable for financial accuracy, reconciliation, and reporting of ~ $3.3MM in weekly benefits expenditures for Anthem medical plan.
• Analyze cost drivers, utilization patterns, and long-term financial risks; translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Deliver executive-level financial reporting and insights to senior leadership, auditors, and carriers.
• Own annual and multi-year benefits budgeting process with HR and Finance.
• Develop and execute long-term cost management strategies and monitor monthly spending against budget.
• Provide forward-looking financial insights that influence plan design and funding strategies.
• Establish and enforce financial controls, audit protocols, and vendor accountability standards.
