Job Description
CTG is seeking to fill a Senior Benefits Consultant opening for our client in Pleasanton, CA.
Location: Remote
Duration: 5 months
Duties:
- Support the strategic direction, administration, and vendor oversight of all U.S. Health Care Benefits, including Medical, Prescription Drug, Dental, Vision, and Retiree Medical plans.
- Set priorities to ensure high-performing vendor partnerships that enhance the employee experience.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations related to group insurance plans.
- Collaborate with legal and external resources to stay current with legislation affecting health benefits and implement required changes.
- Partner on the development and execution of benefit communications to drive awareness, engagement, and compliance.
- Lead annual and ongoing health benefits initiatives, collaborating with the broader Total Rewards team.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts by streamlining processes, identifying cost savings, and proposing innovative program enhancements.
Key Areas of Focus:
Vendor and Plan Management
- Lead vendor relationships and manage budgets with all Health Care Plan Vendors (e.g., UnitedHealthcare, Surest, Kaiser, OptumRx, VSP, Via Benefits).
- Monitor vendor performance through regular status meetings, reviews, and audits.
- Identify trends and opportunities to improve employee health outcomes and reduce costs.
- Partner with Procurement on RFP/RFI processes and lead new vendor implementations as needed.
Project Management
- Co-manage implementation of new benefit plans or changes, especially during Annual Enrollment.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for benefits communications and educational materials.
- Serve as the primary contact for health plan audits and compliance controls.
- Manage special projects as assigned.
Skills:
- Strong strategic thinking and innovation capabilities.

- Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to drive collaboration across teams and lead complex initiatives independently.
- Skilled in process mapping and efficiency improvements.
- Proven multi-tasking and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Employee Benefits, with a focus on Health Care Plan administration.
- Experience with vendor management, benefits compliance, and project leadership is essential.
Education:
- BA/BS in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
