Job summary

Renesas Electronics in Austin is seeking a Senior Benchmarking Engineer to establish and lead our benchmarking and competitive analysis program. You will design systematic benchmarking across interfaces and application domains, informing product positioning and roadmap decisions.

You will build automated benchmarks, generate detailed reports for engineering leadership, and support customer engagements with objective performance data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
• 7+ years of embedded systems performance analysis or benchmarking in the semiconductor industry
• Demonstrated experience designing and executing rigorous, reproducible benchmark campaigns
• Technical skills in performance profiling and measurement methods
• Knowledge of industrial protocols (TSN, EtherCAT, PROFINET, CAN-FD)

Responsibilities

• Design and execute benchmarking programs comparing Renesas solutions against competitor platforms
• Develop standardized benchmark methodologies for fair cross-vendor comparisons
• Conduct interface benchmarking across Ethernet, PCIe, USB, DDR and serial interfaces
• Perform solution-level benchmarking across industrial networking, latency, bandwidth, graphics, and AI workloads
• Build automated benchmark frameworks and test harnesses for regression tracking
• Author detailed competitive analysis reports and present findings to leadership
• Support customer-facing activities with objective performance data
