Job summary

Renesas Electronics seeks a Senior Benchmarking Engineer in Austin to establish and lead a benchmarking program across interfaces and solution-level workloads. You will drive benchmarks for industrial networking, latency, bandwidth, graphics, and AI workloads, informing product decisions and customer engagements.

You will build automated frameworks, publish competitive analyses, and collaborate with architecture and marketing to translate insights into requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in embedded systems performance analysis, benchmarking, or competitive analysis in semiconductors.
• Experience designing and executing rigorous, reproducible benchmark campaigns.
• Ability to build automated benchmark frameworks and test harnesses for regression tracking.
• Strong knowledge of benchmarking domains: industrial protocols, latency/throughput, graphics, AI workloads.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute benchmarking programs comparing Renesas solutions against competitors.
• Develop repeatable benchmark methodologies for fair cross-vendor comparisons.
• Conduct interface benchmarking across Ethernet, PCIe, USB, DDR, and serial interfaces.
• Perform solution-level benchmarking across industrial networking, latency, bandwidth, graphics, and AI workloads.
• Build automated benchmark frameworks and test harnesses for regression tracking and monitoring.
