Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Behavioral Scientist to lead and execute behavioral science projects within the Nudge Unit & Behavioral Insights. You will oversee concept-to-implementation work, mentor junior team members, and contribute to strategic initiatives focused on quality, equity, affordability, and customer experience.

The role requires at least eight years in behavioral science or related fields, with a Master’s or PhD strongly preferred, and a strong track

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of behavioral science projects across a diverse portfolio.
• Serve as a technical lead ensuring quality, rigor, and practical application of methods.
• Develop high-quality reports, proposals, presentations, and other deliverables.
• Guide research design, literature reviews, data analysis, and evaluation activities.
• Coach and mentor internal staff on project execution and technical approaches.
• Collaborate with the Director to shape strategic priorities and expand the team’s work.
• Oversee timelines and deliverables, ensuring on-schedule completion.
• Stay informed of emerging research and best practices to incorporate new evidence.
