Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a skilled Medical Coding Auditor focused on Behavioral Health to ensure CPT/HCPCS accuracy and proper documentation alignment. You will audit records, resolve complex coding issues, and collaborate with Medical Directors and investigators across plan leadership.

The role requires 3+ years of coding/audit experience, CPC certification, and strong knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10, with travel as needed. This is a full-time opportunity based in Hartford, CT.

Qualifications

• Must hold AAPC CPC certification and have 3+ years of Behavioral Health medical coding or documentation auditing experience.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, CMS 1500 and UB04 data elements.
• Experience researching coding policies and auditing teams; proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Willingness to travel and testify as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical record audits to verify CPT/HCPCS or modifiers align with documentation.
• Handle complex coding reviews and resolve issues in collaboration with investigators and plan leadership.
• Provide detailed written summaries of audit findings and defend decisions to stakeholders.
