SUN Behavioral Health in Lafayette, LA is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle team. You will manage insurance billing, claims follow-up, denials resolution, and account reconciliation for inpatient and outpatient services.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of healthcare billing experience, knowledge of payer rules, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Excel and EHR systems. Healthcare compliance and accuracy are essential to our mission.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of healthcare billing, accounts receivable, medical collections, or related revenue cycle experience.
• Knowledge of insurance payer rules, regulations, and reimbursement processes.
• Understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review and submit inpatient and outpatient claims in a timely manner.
• Verify authorizations and ensure services billed align with approved treatment.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve denials through appeals and payer communication.
• Reconcile patient accounts using payer contract guidelines.
• Maintain documentation within the EHR system and collaborate with other departments.
