Job summary

The Summit Center in Amherst, NY is seeking a Senior Behavior Support Technician - OPWDD to join a team serving individuals with autism and developmental challenges. The role focuses on observation, data collection, designing behavioral plans, and training staff to implement supports with fidelity.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and may have up to four years of experience. BCBA/BCBA‑candidate certification is preferred; First Aid/CPR and SCIP‑R are provided by the

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education, psychology or a related human services field preferred.
• Up to four years of successful experience as a Behavioral Support Technician preferred.
• Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral consultation to teams with or without direct supervision.
• Develop or contribute to behavioral assessments and interventions.
• Provide crisis intervention and promote trauma‑informed approaches.
• Collect, organize, and maintain direct observational data.
• Train staff in best‑practice methods and complete required reports.
• Ensure tasks comply with current best practice and agency values.
