WABO in the United States (North Carolina) seeks a research-focused engineer to translate goals into data-driven EEG/BCI models and online evaluation.

You will collaborate with software and embedded teams, reproduce baselines, conduct ablations, document processes, and ensure results are reviewable.

PhD and experience in EEG/BCI, signal processing, ML, Python/PyTorch required; equity opportunities may be available.

Qualifications

PhD required in a relevant technical field (CS, signal processing, or biomedical engineering).
Experience in algorithm research and project leadership.
End-to-end EEG/BCI research experience is essential.
Strong background in signal processing and ML with Python/PyTorch.
Knowledge of leakage, cross-subject evaluation and online feedback is valuable.
Ability to establish experiment management and code-quality practices.
Ability to clearly explain individual contributions across disciplines.

Responsibilities

Translate goals into data, modeling, and online evaluation work.
Assess accuracy, false activations, calibration, and latency.
Lead baseline comparisons and engineering collaboration.
Coordinate baseline reproduction, ablation studies and code reviews with software and embedded teams.
Document research processes, maintain versions and evidence for review.
Review and improve work with relevant teams to advance project milestones.
