Job summary

Datadog is seeking a senior software engineer for the Language Tools team in a hybrid role in the New York area. You will own projects end-to-end, focusing on building scalable CI, packaging, and developer tooling used by thousands of Datadog engineers across Go, Python, Java, Rust, and TypeScript.

You will work to improve build performance, cost efficiency, and CI reliability, while contributing to Bazel ecosystem improvements and migrations within a large monorepo.

Qualifications

• Expert in Bazel and/or at least one of the listed languages (Go, Python, Java, Rust, TypeScript).
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale development tooling.
• Strong focus on developer productivity and fast feedback in CI environments.

Responsibilities

• Invent build, test and packaging tools that are simpler and more reliable.
• Push performance and cost efficiency at scale across millions of targets.
• Treat CI pipeline health with the same care as production reliability.
• Prepare, run, and finish complex migrations.
• Contribute fixes and features back to Bazel ecosystem.
