Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Towson, MD is seeking a Battery Test Technician to join a world-class engineering team. You will build, test, and troubleshoot lithium-ion battery packs and battery-powered tools in a controlled lab environment.

You will collaborate with engineers to design test procedures, fabricate prototype components, and analyze test data using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and power supplies. Strong electronics background and hands-on prototyping are required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Electronics or EMC engineering tech or equivalent field is required.
• 5–7+ years experience in Electronics Technician or related position.
• Experience with PCB assembly, surface mount soldering, hand soldering and electronics prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test battery packs and battery-operated power tools with engineering team.
• Fabricate materials to build prototypes and battery assemblies.
• Write test procedures and build fixtures; execute tests with data acquisition.
• Troubleshoot and determine root cause on packs, assemblies, tools and test equipment.
• Perform thermal testing and graph/analyze test data.
• Document new test procedures and report test plan results.
