Job summary
Amazon Leo, Amazon's LEO satellite battery team, seeks a Sr. Battery Systems Engineer to own battery requirements from design to production. You will connect system requirements, battery physics, modeling, and test results to define defensible specs and pass/fail criteria.
Export controls require U.S. citizenship or eligible status. You will collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure safe, reliable, high‑performance battery systems for space applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Master’s or advanced degree in a related technical field.
- Experience developing battery requirements and verification criteria.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and document battery system requirements across electrical, thermal, performance, safety, reliability, lifetime, and environmental domains.
- Decompose system requirements into battery pack, module, BMS, cell, and test-level requirements.
- Translate requirements into measurable verification criteria, test parameters, pass/fail limits, and production acceptance limits.
- Establish engineering margins and review verification traceability.
- Collaborate with Systems, Battery, Electrical, Mechanical, Test, Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability, Software, and Modeling teams.
