Job summary

1X in California is building a battery-driven humanoid robot platform. We are seeking a Battery Engineer to own architecture, prototyping, validation, and production, delivering compact, safe, and reliable packs for daily human-robot interaction.

You will collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Embedded Software, Reliability, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to meet energy, thermal, safety, and cycle-life requirements in a fast-paced hardware environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent in an engineering field.
• 5+ years designing battery systems or related electromechanical products.
• Experience developing battery packs, modules, or cells.
• Experience defining and executing battery characterization and validation testing.
• Experience collaborating across electrical, mechanical, embedded software, manufacturing, quality, reliability, and supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Own battery architecture from concept to production.
• Develop battery packs, modules, and cells meeting energy, power, and safety targets.
• Design and validate testing methods and fixtures for batteries.
• Analyze data to improve energy density, power, and cycle life.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Embedded Software, and Manufacturing teams.
