Job summary

Saft America, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the design of nickel-cadmium batteries, battery systems, and related harnesses for rail, aviation, and telecom applications.

You will develop electrical and electronic system designs, create 2D/3D harness drawings in Creo and Windchill, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100D, NEC, IEC, IEEE, and other industry standards. Collaborating with electrochemical and mechanical teams, you will support production, quality, and purchasing,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• 5-10 years of Electrical/Electronics Product design experience in the Aviation, or Rail markets.
• 5 years of experience designing and managing Complex Electrical Engineering tasks in the design of batteries and battery systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical activities of electrical team (battery design / component qualification)
• Develop the new products and developments in line with the strategic plan and marketing
• Contribute in the site cost reduction plan
• Assist in the Railway, Aviation, and ISD segments on technical issues
• Maintain support for production, the quality department, and the other sites (Zhuhai, Bangalore, Bordeaux,Valdosta)
• Motivate the Engineering Team
• Ensure defining the design rules to size the accumulators (batteries) and battery systems in a reliable and repeatable way.
• Comprehensive electrical design knowledge
• Familiar with Creo or other 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of PLM software like Windchill is a plus.
• Knowledge of ASTM, AS9100D, NEC, IEC, IEEE & APTA standards.
