Job summary

Eos Energy Enterprises is seeking a Materials and Failure Analysis Engineer to own incoming materials quality and lead root-cause investigations into battery failures. You will work at the intersection of materials, electrochemistry, mechanics, and manufacturing quality to translate field returns and production data into actionable fixes.

You’ll partner with supply chain, R&D, and manufacturing to protect product performance and safety, and you’ll help build failure analysis lab capabilities as

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in materials science, electrical, mechanical, chemical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in failure analysis, reliability, or quality engineering, preferably batteries/electronics.
• Hands-on failure analysis—electrical/electrochemical testing, microscopy, thermal analysis, X-ray/CT.

Responsibilities

• Lead RCFA on battery modules and systems from triage to corrective action.
• Design teardown, inspection, and testing protocols for failed units.
• Apply analytical techniques (electrical/electrochemical testing, microscopy, spectroscopy, thermal imaging) to identify failure modes.
• Collaborate with R&D, suppliers, and manufacturing to close loop between findings and improvements.
• Develop and maintain FMEA documentation for cells, modules, and systems.
