Job summary

Cabot Corporation is seeking a Sr Lab Technical Operator to join the Battery Materials team at our Billerica, MA technical center. This role is fully onsite in Billerica, MA and entails operating a range of lab and pilot-plant equipment to support battery materials processing and electrode/cell fabrication.

You will set up testing, calibrate equipment, and manage data documentation while training less-experienced operators and ensuring safety and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED plus 4+ years of related lab experience or an Associates degree plus 2+ years of related lab experience.
• Broad knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and protocols.
• Experience with electrochemical systems such as lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries and fuel cells is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate under minimal supervision to execute defined analytical, chemical, and/or physical testing and process operations.
• Set up equipment, prepare materials, and adjust testing parameters within defined ranges.
• Identify and troubleshoot lab equipment and routine processes and contribute to problem-solving efforts with vendors as needed.
• Provide training to less-experienced operators and ensure compliance with lab standards and safety rules.
