Job summary

Cabot Corporation is seeking a Sr Lab Technical Operator to join the Battery Materials team at the Billerica, Massachusetts technical center. The role focuses on battery materials processing, electrode and cell fabrication, and performance testing in a minimal supervision setting.

You will work with lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries, calibrate equipment, and maintain rigorous lab documentation. This onsite position offers health benefits, a 401K plan, and a competitive bonus structure.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience can be one of the following combinations:
• High School diploma/GED plus 4+ years of related lab experience.
• Associates degree in technical discipline plus 2+ years of related lab experience.
• Broad knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and protocols; experience with electrochemical systems such as lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries and fuel cells.

Responsibilities

• Operate under minimal supervision to execute advanced analytical and lab testing across battery materials processes.
• Set up equipment, prepare materials, and adjust testing parameters within defined ranges.
• Identify and troubleshoot lab equipment and collaborate with vendors for resolutions.
• Assist in assembly, setup, and installation of new lab and process equipment.
• Calibrate testing equipment and perform routine maintenance as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and data entry in lab databases; summarize results and trends.
• Support inventory control and participate in safety and compliance activities.
