Job summary

Chemours is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Advanced Performance Materials team at the Newark, DE site. The role focuses on operating lab and pilot scale equipment for processing chemicals and assembling electrochemical devices, including lithium battery cells.

The candidate should have 1–2 years of lab experience, strong record-keeping, and the ability to work independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PPE are required for safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years laboratory experience, preferably in chemistry.
• Fine motor skills to perform small, delicate tasks.
• Excellent record-keeping and notebook skills.
• Ability to read and understand SOPs.
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint).
• Ability to wear an air-line respirator and PPE.
• Ability to lift 45 lbs and move drums with proper ergonomics.

Responsibilities

• Operate lab and pilot scale equipment for handling, weighing, mixing, and processing chemicals.
• Assemble, monitor, and analyze electrochemical devices such as lithium ion battery cells.
• Conduct wet chemistry experiments safely with corrosive, toxic, and flammable chemicals.
• Document and audit operating, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, controls, analytical, or lab issues.
