Job summary

General Motors in Warren, Michigan is seeking a Senior Advanced Battery Cell Engineer to join the Wallace Battery Cell Innovation Center. This onsite role leads prismatic cell build development, collaborates with technicians and cross-functional teams, and advances next-generation battery concepts.

You will plan and execute cell builds, analyze results, document learnings, and present recommendations to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science required.
• 5+ years in battery cells/manufacturing or related field.
• Experience running structured experiments for process development.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead cell build process development across assembly steps.
• Plan, set up, run and document cell builds and trials.
• Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, controls, and automation.
• Define guidelines, work instructions, and success criteria.
• Communicate updates and risks to stakeholders clearly.
