Job summary

New York Empire Baseball seeks an experienced Senior/Head Coach to own the success of Travel Teams and lead as a key figure in our coaching organization. You will inform, instruct, motivate, and develop both players and other coaches in our world-class indoor facility, The Arena.

The role emphasizes leadership, culture, and communication with families, with responsibilities spanning preparation, performance, and program delivery.

Qualifications

• Significant experience coaching, instructing, and leading teams.
• Strong ability to manage group dynamics and develop players over time.
• Confidence communicating with families and representing the organization.
• Alignment with New York Empire Baseball’s values, culture, and long-term development philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Head Coach for one or more Travel Teams, owning player development, team performance, and culture.
• Deliver high-quality instruction that aligns with New York Empire Baseball’s methods, models, and developmental philosophy, and supports long-term athletic development.
• Prepare for and execute assigned sessions, practices, and programs with discipline, organization, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Work collaboratively with Assistant Coaches and other New York Empire Baseball coaches and Player Development Staff during team practices and programming.
• Set expectations for preparation, effort, behavior, and accountability amongst all staff and players.
• Contribute to training content execution and reinforcement across programs.
• Support the development of Assistant and Lead Coaches through feedback, modeling, and guidance.
• Communicate proactively with families regarding player and team expectations, development, and program structure.
• Represent New York Empire Baseball’s standards and values across all environments and interactions.
• Shepherd and steward New York Empire Baseball’s culture and values – evangelizing players, teams, and parents.
• Ensuring a collaborative and inclusive environment and relationships among players, teams, and parents.
