Job summary

Jobot seeks a Senior Project Manager for Building Automation Systems (BAS) to lead complex projects in San Jose, CA. You will drive execution from preconstruction to turnover, coordinating engineering, field operations, and project teams to meet safety, schedule, and budget goals.

The ideal candidate has a technical bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in HVAC/building automation, with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; AL C BAS experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to building systems or engineering.
• 7+ years managing HVAC controls, BAS, or mechanical construction projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, DDC controls, and BAS design principles.
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans, specs and control drawings.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and customer communication.
• Proven leadership with mentoring across technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple BAS projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Build relationships with owners, contractors, engineers, and end users.
• Develop project estimates, proposals, and change orders.
• Coordinate engineering, field technicians, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, labor, procurement and financial performance.
• Review drawings, specs and control sequences for correct implementation.
• Provide technical guidance through design, installation, commissioning, startup.
• Negotiate subcontract agreements and oversee material purchasing.
• Ensure safety, schedule, budget, and customer satisfaction.
• Support billing, forecasting, project reporting, and contract administration.
• Mentor junior PMs and engineers; promote cross-team collaboration.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and growth.
