Job summary

Altura, LLC is seeking an experienced professional to support the Master Systems Integration (MSI) practice, growing and scaling impact in building automation system architectures. The role emphasizes Niagara 4 expertise, large‑scale deployments, and enterprise management across multiple clients.

Location options include Irvine, CA or Oakland, CA with hybrid or remote consideration within the U.S. A base salary between $150,000 and $170,000 is offered along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years direct experience installing, configuring, programming, calibrating and networking BAS devices.
  • Solid IT understanding as it relates to building automation and BAS data management.
  • Experience deploying Niagara networks, licensing, version control, patching, monitoring, and expansion best practices.
  • Direct Niagara 4 experience including certification, third‑party device integration, wire‑sheet programming, JSON development and station configuration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot BACnet communications (IP and ms‑tp) and explain root causes.
  • Ambitious, curious, positive, self‑starting problem solver.

Overview

Altura, LLC is a professional services firm focused on improving energy, environmental, and financial performance across all levels of our clients’ organizations. The company is seeking an experienced individual to support the Master Systems Integration (MSI) practice by helping to grow and scale impact in building automation system architectures.

Responsibilities
  • Support on‑going client technical strategy development for Smart Building control systems, including retrofit, new construction, conversion, and optimization projects.
  • Design, implement, optimize, and manage scalable Niagara programming and graphics supervisors to deliver centralized project optimization and analytics integration across existing and new building control systems.
  • Provide enterprise management of open Niagara enterprise automation systems across multiple clients, including direct client engagement and oversight of multiple third‑party systems integration vendors.
  • Manage a workload that incorporates roughly 5% field work and 95% office‑based work.
Required Qualifications
  • 5‑10 years of direct experience installing, configuring, programming, calibrating, validating and networking BAS serial and Ethernet devices; HVAC unit controls; lighting controls; energy metering.
  • Solid understanding of Information Technology as it relates to building automation, including experience with routers, switches, firewalls, media converters, network subnetting and BAS data management across network layers.
  • Experience procuring, implementing and managing scaled deployments of Niagara networks, including licensing, version control, compatibility, vulnerability patching, resource monitoring, troubleshooting and expansion best practices.
  • Direct experience and skills using Tridium Niagara 4, including Niagara 4 certification, integration of a wide variety of third‑party devices, complex wire‑sheet programming, JSON development, and managing Niagara databases, platform services, station configuration, and efficient data import.
  • Ability to troubleshoot BACnet communications, explain root causes, and understand full BACnet stack (both IP and ms‑tp).
  • Ambitious, curious, positive, self‑starting problem solver.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience designing and implementing end‑to‑end building automation hardware and software solutions, including controller selection, sensor layout, network architecture, sequences of operations, and BAS scope documentation.
  • Experience developing custom code within the Niagara developer framework.
  • Deep experience integrating legacy proprietary control systems into the Niagara framework.
Location

Irvine, CA or Oakland, CA (Preferred); hybrid or remote (within the U.S.) candidates will be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary range for this role is $150,000 – $170,000. Additional benefits include:
