This senior‑level role is responsible for the design, implementation, commissioning, and lifecycle support of Tridium Niagara‑based, vendor‑agnostic building controls solutions across complex facilities. The Engineering Lead will serve as a technical authority, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with customers, project managers, and subcontractors to deliver secure, scalable, and high‑performance smart building systems.

In this role, the Engineering Lead will lead and coordinate a team of controls engineers and specialists, providing technical direction, mentoring, and quality assurance to deliver consistent, high‑performance solutions across a diverse federal and commercial portfolio. The position serves as a technical authority and primary escalation point, partnering closely with customers, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant smart building systems are delivered on time and within scope.

Required Experience & Skills
  • Senior‑level experience (typically 8+ years) in building automation systems engineering for commercial, institutional, or federal facilities
  • Demonstrated expertise with Tridium Niagara (N4) framework and Niagara‑compatible platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, JCI, Distech, or equivalent)
  • Proven ability to design open‑protocol, interoperable BAS architectures using BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and IP‑based networks
  • Experience leading controls design efforts, including sequences of operation, points lists, drawings, submittals, and system integration
  • Strong commissioning and troubleshooting background for large‑scale BAS deployments
  • Ability to act as technical lead on projects, providing guidance to engineers, programmers, and technicians
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for OT and BAS environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including customer‑facing technical presentations
Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Niagara certification(s) (e.g., N4 Technical Certification)
  • Experience supporting federal, DoD, or mission‑critical facilities
  • Integration experience with energy management, metering, fault detection/diagnostics (FDD), and analytics platforms
  • Exposure to smart building, IoT, and enterprise integration initiatives
  • Prior experience with project lifecycle support from design through operations and sustainment
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and guidelines (ASHRAE, UFC, etc.)
Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered
