Job summary

Bosch Building Technologies North America in Irving, TX is seeking a BAS design specialist to own submittals, network architectures, and SOOs for complex HVAC and industrial control systems. Use AutoCAD and Visio to interpret specifications and develop Bills of Materials while collaborating with project managers to resolve design discrepancies through RFIs.

Responsibilities include designing BAS projects, producing thorough submittals, and ensuring equipment compatibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or a related technical field; 8+ years experience can supersede.
• 4+ years in building automation systems controls or BAS management.
• 4+ years producing BAS submittals in any BAS platform.
• 4+ years with AutoCAD and/or Visio.
• 2+ years designing HVAC control systems and developing SOOs.
• 2+ years generating and managing RFIs to resolve design issues.
• Proficiency reading and creating layout drawings for installation.
• Experience interacting with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design BAS projects to meet scope and budget as defined by contract documents and sales estimates.
• Provide AutoCAD/Visio design labor and direction for submittals and documents.
• Develop BAS submittal packages including riser diagrams, network architecture, and wiring schematics for HVAC and electrical systems.
• Interpret project documents to select equipment for the stated scope.
• Complete Sequences of Operations (SOO) and verify they meet system requirements.
• Complete Bill of Materials for each design project.
• Maintain documentation of design systems, wiring diagrams and software configurations.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to generate RFIs and resolve design issues.
• Forecast labor requirements to design a complete project and track progress.
• Provide support for ongoing service engineering and existing building systems.
• Develop and maintain library of engineering standards for Bosch Building Technologies and industry.
